David began his advertising career at BBDO, a large NYC advertising agency where he cut his teeth planning media for large national accounts. He rose steadily up the ranks, working at several different agencies and as a Managing Director, he oversaw all media department operations.
By early 1990, internet usage was on the rise and it was fast emerging as a “new medium” for advertisers. It was at this time that David added online advertising to his skillset, beginning with running “banner ads” online for several of his clients.
In 1993, the agency he worked for was selected by the U.S. Treasury to launch a massive public education campaign called “The New Color of Money”. David oversaw the planning and execution of a multi-media, multi-national campaign involving all forms of media. Pre and post awareness tracking showed that the campaign was highly successful against all measures. The agency was ultimately honored to receive the coveted “Big Idea Chair Award” from Yahoo!
With a desire to have his own agency, David founded Optics Social Media, LLC in 2015.
